At your arrival, you will be transfered from to the Tambopata River port after a brief stop at Puerto Maldonado Headquarters where you will be able to leave all unnecessary luggages for this journey. Begin to experience the enchantment of the Amazon rainforest as you take a 2 and a half hour boat ride along the Tambopata River to arrive to the Amazon Rainforest lodge in Tambopata National Reserve.
The Trail system
Guided walk along the Trail system, into the natural area of the Amazon Rainforest lodge, where you will discover the Amazon Basin. This trail offers an excellent introduction to the Amazon rainforest environment and the opportunity for bird watching and observing exotic insects.
Presentation at The Eco Center. Cocktail and dinner, served in the main dining room of the lodge.

DAY 2 |
Sandoval Lake (B, L, D)
After breakfast you will visit the Sandoval lake. Glide in a wooden canoe, across a beautiful, mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter, as well as red howler monkeys, red-bellied macaws, anacondas and side-neck turtles. Return to the Inkaterra lodge for lunch.
Inkaterra Canopy and Anaconda Walk
Ascending the first tower, 29 meters above the forest ground, you begin your encounter with the treetop realm. For more than a quarter of a mile, you will literally walk through the Amazon rainforest canopy on a suspension bridge network linking eight observation platforms. Be on the lookout for bright toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, monkeys and the three-toed sloth. After your descent from the Canopy, experience the Anaconda Walk for about 30 minutes along the 200-meter wooden bridge over the Aguajales swamps. In this lush eco system, you will observe the various species of amphibians, birds, mammals, abundant flora, trees and there is a possibility to see serpents of this flooded marshland. Return to the lodge.
Enjoy a cocktail during the daily nature presentation in the Ecomedia Center.

DAY 3 |
Gamitana Creek (B, L, D)
Enjoy a trip to Gamitana Creek, located 45 minutes by boat from the Inkaterra lodge. Explore the Amazon rainforest along the banks of a winding, dark-water creek that is home to many piranha, caiman, turtles and birds. You will return to Gamitana Farm in time for a well-earned picnic lunch, followed by a short guided tour to see how local farmers raise fruits and vegetables. Return to the lodge.
Make time for relaxation, with the special services at ENA Spa (optional) located on the banks of the Madre de Dios River.

Butterfly House
(B)
After breakfast, you will take a return trip by boat on the Madre de Dios River to Puerto Maldonado, where you may visit Inkaterra Butterfly House.
Transfer to the airport to take your flight to Lima. |
