We just came back from a 15 days tour of Peru. We planned the tour with a local tour operator (INTENSE PERU) of which I have only complements. We started in the low altitude (Amazon) to higher altitude (The Sacered Vally and Machu Picchu) to higher altitude (Cusco) and finaly to Puno and the Lake. We are not young (+75) and not so healthy but we could do it without any problems. We asked for a private tour (a car and guide of our own) all the hotels and the transportation including air flights, All were beyond our expectations. The main office was in a continious connection all the time taking care that everything was satisfactory. While we wrer in Puno some riots and a general strike almost prevented us from our scheduled flight back, but a special boat and a small car that could ride in unpaved roads brought us to our destination on time. Peru was a once in a life time experience and we will not forget the most interesting and enjoyable time we had there.

Our group trip to Cusco and Machu Picchu was the experience of a lifetime, thanks to Intense Peru. The accommodations exceeded expectations, the transportation was reliable, and the guides were entertaining, knowledgeable and friendly.

Jeremy and I visited Peru (Cusco, Inca Trail, and Machu Pichu) in March 2011. Initially, I was very apprehensive about the hiking portion. However, I can now say I am so thrilled to have been able to do this adventure. We hiked for four days with Juan Carlos, our guide. The service on the tour was incredible. Friendly chef, porters, etc. and we were basically on our own private tour. First class food and service. Juan Carlos was extremely knowledgeable about the landscape and history. He made the trekking very fun. It is a very challenging hike, but well worth it! I enjoyed every part! After hiking, reaching Machu Pichu is a major accomplishment. You really feel like you deserve to be there. It is the crown jewel. The landscape is amazing and several times on the hike one just looks around to really take it all in. It is like being in the clouds. In Cusco, we were taken on the city tour as well as a tour of the Sacred Valley. These were led very well and the guides spoke very good English. The pace was appropriate and we learned so much about Incan civilization. It is quite fascinating. Our hotel (The Libertador) was first class as well. Delicious buffet breakfast and very attentive staff. It was very comfortable, even offering coca tea in the lobby for adjustment to the altitude. On our final evening we enjoyed an Incan spa ritual at another hotel (eco Inn.) This was heavenly after our hiking experience. All around, I would highly recommend this trip and travel service. The owner even called when we arrived at Machu Pichu to greet us!
We have many wonderful memories and enjoyed the experience immensely!

CLorraine and I had a wonderful time. Everything was as you said it would be, smooth and comfortable with knowledgeable guides. You had no control over rain in Machu Picchu or the mudslide two days earlier to prevent train delays in Cusco. My two days on my own were great as well. You have given me the courage to never fear going on my own! Significantly, Sofia put together an incredible long-weekend tour for my group and on very short notice. We did so much more than just “go” to Machu Picchu. She and her team crafted the experience to meet the needs and expectations of a well-traveled professor leading a group of ten university students. Intense Peru combined the traditional must-see sites with cultural immersion and educational experiences. Our guides were not only conscientious—always asking how the group was doing and always arriving before the agreed-upon pick-up time— but also they were knowledgeable, articulate, and charismatic. Importantly, they were flexible and willing to respond to on-the-ground suggestions. We never felt like we were being herded from one place to another to keep a schedule. By the way, Sofia was able to compress many experiences in very few days, which was necessary due to our own time constraint.

Mi esposa y yo hemos disfrutado con esta hermosa experiencia en el Cuzco. Iniciando nuestro viaje por el valle del Urubamba, hermoso y apacible, y la tranquilidad del Hotel en que estuvimos; siguiendo luego por Aguas Calientes que nos sorprendió por ser tan pintoresca, organizada y limpia. Visitar Machu Pichu es acercarnos a algo tan bello y extraordinario que hasta ahora no se puede explicar y regresar por Cusco una ciudad diferente con espectaculares construcciones y monumentos en ella y sus alrededores nos ha dejado sorprendido por esta raza de gigantes que la creó y la habitó.
Agradecemos muy especialmente a la Agencia Turistica Intense Perú quien organizó el tour estupendamente permitiendonos disfrutar de este viaje sin ningún tipo de inconvenientes, pues ya todo nos estaba esperando.

Ahora, gracias a la excelente asesoría de la empresa, conocí Trujillo, una hermosa cuidad con mucha cultura - arqueología, obras de arte y folklore-. Disfruté mucho la visita a la “Huaca del Sol”, la presentación de la danza de “La Marinera” con caballos de paso peruanos y ver la pesca artesanal en los “Caballitos de Totora”.
La atención y el servicio fue insuperable, por eso he decidido pasar fin de ano -con Intense Perú- en Puno-Lago Titicaca, estoy segura de que será grandioso!!! Gracias!!!

We just returned from a trip with Intense Peru and it was the TRIP OF A LIFETIME! We visited Tambopata, Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley, Cusco, and Lake Titicaca. Everything was perfect from the attention to detail, prompt and efficient guide services, accommodations, and activities on each day's itinerary!

Intense Peru was a great resource because they are experts in Peru and recommend you what is worth visiting, their restaurant recommendations are very good and their attentions are excellent.
To take our early flight to Cusco, they considered the hotel within the airport premises, Ramada Costa Del Sol, which is right in front. It was very convenient because we were able to leave our stuff in the concierge service in 2 different times when traveling to Cusco and then to Arequipa.
Originally, we did not add Arequipa in our trip itinerary but this was a city we definitely wanted to visit specially after hearing many good comments while in Cusco. Intense Peru was very kind to help us arrange last minute reservations and purchase our e-tickets. They suggested the best five-star hotel in Arequipa and they even upgraded our room to a Senior Suite. The hotel was amazing and very well located. I did not want to leave!

We really enjoyed our trip and hope to be back in Peru very soon!

They delivered top notch service the entire time we were in Peru, which is greatly appreciated. We have been on other tours with various companies in several countries and were not given half the service that Intense Peru delivered for us. All of the accommodations were as scheduled and there were no surprises, which we have had with other tour companies. The recommendations that your guides and company offered were also very much appreciated, it can be a daunting task to find a good restaurant or shopping area while you are in a foreign country, let alone find your way around, again thank you so very much.

Como organizadora de grupos para viajar, tuve la suerte de caer en manos de Intense Perú. Hicimos varios cambios y peticiones en nuestro itinerario y pacientemente nos lo resolvieron. Nos escogieron hoteles fabulosos!! Y las comidas ofrecidas fueron muy buenas al igual que los restaurantes recomendados.

El viaje en general fue muy lindo, el Cusco es una ciudad tan hermosa!! siguiendo hacia el Valle Sagrado un lugar precioso, visitamos complejos arqueológicos sumamente interesantes. Llegada la hora de efectuar nuestro motivo principal del viaje tomamos el tren y nos bajamos en el Km. 106 para subir la montaña atravesar “Inti Punku” o puerta del sol hasta llegar a Machu Pichu! Ohh..Eso fue fabuloso!! Nos sentíamos como los descubridores del lugar! El camino del Inca nos gusto muchísimo a pesar de la subida muy fuerte en algunos tramos y la altura que nos dificultaba un poco la respiración, pero nuestro guía estaba siempre pendiente y paraba a descansar justo en el momento en que lo necesitábamos.

Esta demás decir que Machu Picchu es una experiencia única!! Y vale la pena ir y más aun hacer el camino del Inca. Nos quedamos con ganas de hacer el de 4 días y seguro iremos el próximo año!!

We spent three weeks travelling around Peru. All details of the trip were taken care of, and we felt like with such a perfect organisation, we only had to relax and ENJOY!!

Intense Perú nos ayudó a organizar nuestra Luna de Miel, nos recomendó la combinación de Cusco y Machupiccu y luego la Selva, y planeó todo nuestro viaje. Nos trataron de maravilla, tuvimos unos guías excelentes que nos explicaron cualquier duda que surgía sobre todo en la zona arqueológica de Machu Picchu. En la selva la pasamos de lujo, nos desconectamos totalmente y estuvimos muy en contacto con la naturaleza. Los sonidos de las aves, el lodge muy romántico y el servicio del personal excelente. Todo estuvo perfectamente planeado en tiempo y forma. Nos quedamos con un muy bonito recuerdo de nuestra Luna de Miel y del magnífico servicio que nos ofreció Intense Perú por eso se los recomendamos al 100%.

Cuando ya se han visitado muchos países cuesta encontrar un lugar que colme todas tus expectativas y eso sucede cuando visitas Perú. Los paisajes son preciosos, las ruinas arqueológicas muy interesantes, la gente es acogedora y en muchas zonas todavía se mantiene un modo de vida que no ha estropeado el turismo. Si a todo ello añadimos una gastronomía de primera categoría, unos hoteles muy cuidados y unos guías expertos el resultado no podía ser mejor.

Gracias a Intense Perú y a su magnífica organización hemos podido disfrutar de todo ello sin ningún contratiempo, sólo deseamos repetir la experiencia y recorrer con esta agencia otras zonas del país.

Abbiamo passato il fine settimana che ci avevi organizzato a Cusco, l’albergo che ci era stato riservato, era molto confortevole, all’aereoportoci attendeva Jose’ che con tipica ospitalita’ sudamericana ci accoglieva. La visita ai siti archeologici, con una guida molto preparata ci ha fatto apprezzare una civilta’ antica.

La sera abbiamo potuto gustare la cucina locale e ascoltare con piacere la musica andina.
Tutto era organizzato molto bene, siamo stati molto contenti di questo fine settimana che non dimenticheremo.

I am originally from Lousiana, and I went to Lima Peru. I had a good experience in the city tours I took in Lima with Intense Peru. My wife and I really enjoyed this trip. The service of this Tourist Company was excellent, and the tourist guide explained very well in a fluent English accent, everything important and historical of this city.
