The people of the Umasbamba village are located at nearly 13,000 feet in the Central Andes over the popular town of Chinchero. Only 50 minutes away from Cusco, this charming and authentic village of avid farmers and textile workers, welcomes visitors who wish to participate in their chores, customs and traditions. Gather wood, take care of the animals, harvest potatoes, dye wool, or learn their knitting techniques.
Transportation to and from Umasbamba village is provided. A top quality guide will also accompany you on your experience. You will interact with the adults and children of the community to learn how they live, and to exchange experiences. You may also bring school supplies and/or personal care items to donate to the community.
This experience may be combined with a visit to the salt pools of Maras and Moray for a full day excursion.
